The mouth is the start of the digestive tract, not separate from it. Clearing the tongue and gumline each morning supports lymph drainage and gives you a genuine read on your inner terrain before anything else goes in.
Waterpik Ultra Professional water flosser (WP-660)
Gentler on the gums than string floss and easier to keep up daily, which matters more than the tool itself. This is the model I use and point clients to.
Get it herePure copper tongue scraper
A one minute Ayurvedic habit. Copper is naturally antimicrobial, and scraping first thing removes the coating that builds up overnight rather than swallowing it back down with breakfast.
Get it hereRiseWell mineral toothpaste (hydroxyapatite, fluoride free)
A fluoride free option built around hydroxyapatite, the mineral that makes up tooth enamel itself. Pairs naturally with the morning tongue scrape.
Get it herePEG Paste hydroxyapatite toothpaste
Another fluoride free hydroxyapatite option, if you'd rather this than RiseWell. Same principle, remineralising rather than stripping, just a different formulation to try.
Get it hereEpic Dental xylitol chewing gum
Genuinely useful after eating out, when brushing isn't an option. Xylitol starves the bacteria that cause decay rather than just masking breath.
Get it hereProtein and real food between meals keep blood sugar steady, which is most of what stops the afternoon crash and the reach for something sweet.
Chief Nutrition
My daily protein and nourishment brand. I use the unflavoured collagen and biltong daily, plus the collagen bars as a snack. We use the beef liver powder in our family cooking, and the beef sticks go straight into my kids' lunch boxes. My own morning ritual is 1 tablespoon of the unflavoured collagen stirred into my matcha with 1 tablespoon of ghee.
Get it hereSol Organics grass fed ghee
My default fat for cooking. Lactose free since the milk solids are removed, stable at high heat, and genuinely improves the taste of whatever it goes into. My own morning ritual is 1 tablespoon of this stirred into my matcha with 1 tablespoon of unflavoured Chief Nutrition collagen.
Get it hereNutriBullet personal blender
I use this every day for so many different things in my cooking and blending.
Get it hereInstant Pot Duo 7-in-1 multicooker (5.7L)
A full stainless steel inner pot, no non-stick coating to worry about. Turns bone broth, slow cooked stews and rice into a set-and-forget job on a busy week.
Get it hereGlass meal prep containers with lids (10 pack)
Borosilicate glass instead of plastic, so nothing leaches into leftovers reheating in the microwave. What I actually pack meals and snacks into for the week.
Get it hereMaking tea properly, on the stove, in a teapot, is a pause built into the day rather than a drink made in passing. Watching leaves bloom in glass is its own small ritual.
CnGlass stovetop blooming teapot
Glass over stovetop heat, with a removable infuser, so you can actually watch a flowering tea open. It slows you down in a way a mug never quite does.
Get it hereJapanese ceremonial grade matcha
For the evenings you want ritual without caffeine keeping you wired, matcha's steadier lift and L-theanine make it a gentler swap than coffee, whisked properly rather than rushed.
Get it hereSensory detangling hairbrush
A soft ending to the day for anyone, but especially useful with kids at bedtime. Scalp brushing this way also supports lymphatic flow, same principle as the morning tongue scrape.
Get it hereNatural beeswax tealight candles
Beeswax burns clean, without the soot and synthetic fragrance of paraffin candles. A small light for the table during tea, or for a ceremony or circle.
Get it hereNasal breathing overnight supports better sleep quality and undoes some of the dry mouth and grogginess that mouth breathing creates.
MYOSPOTS mouth tape
Encourages nasal breathing overnight instead of mouth breathing, which supports better sleep quality and reduces the dry mouth that undoes all your morning oral care effort.
Get it hereNasal strips
A simple add if mouth tape feels like too much to start with, or for anyone congested. Opens the airway mechanically so nasal breathing is actually possible overnight.
Get it hereNatural fibres breathe and regulate temperature in a way synthetics can't, which matters most in the layer closest to your body.
Merino wool underwear
Breathable, naturally temperature regulating and antimicrobial, which matters more than people think for daily comfort, especially across a cycle.
Get it hereThe same principle applies for children as it does for adults, stainless steel and glass over plastic wherever it's practical, so nothing leaches into their food or drink.
Smash Kids stainless steel bento lunch box
Four compartments so lunch stays sorted rather than mixed together, no plastic touching the food, and it's leakproof enough for a school bag.
Get it hereYETI Rambler Jr. kids water bottle with straw
Stainless steel and genuinely tough, built to survive being dropped from a school bag or bike more times than a normal bottle ever could.
Get it hereStainless steel, no plastic touching what I actually drink from, and both of these travel with me daily.
YETI Rambler 20oz stainless steel tumbler
My everyday takeaway cup. Keeps matcha or coffee properly hot for hours, and the stainless steel means nothing plastic sits against a hot drink.
Get it hereYETI Rambler insulated water bottle
What I actually carry with me between clients and workshops. Keeps water cold through a full clinic day, no glass to worry about breaking in a bag.
Get it hereManaging light exposure both ways, more of the right kind during the day, less of the wrong kind at night, supports circulation, skin and sleep. Using the links below also gets you a discount at checkout.
EMR-Tek Firedragon red light therapy panel
A red and near-infrared panel, six wavelengths across both ranges, for skin, circulation and recovery. A few minutes most days, adjustable stand so you can angle it to whatever needs it that day.
Get it hereEMR-Tek Sköll blue light blocking glasses
Yellow lenses for daytime screen work, red for the hour before bed, since red blocks blue and green light both, which matters for actually protecting melatonin at night.
